Taste of Malta Tour

Tour Duration: 4hrs or customised

Malta’s known human history dates back to around 5000 BC and since then has experienced a multitude of influences, not only in culture but also in gastronomy. All those who ruled Malta left their mark: such as the Romans, the Arabs and the Knights.

Maltese cuisine is the result of a long relationship between the Islanders and the many invaders who occupied the Maltese Islands over the centuries.

No Mediterranean meal is complete without olive oil, honey and wine. For millennia, these have played a significant role in the Mediterranean cultures. On the island of Malta archaeological finds include: roman tools for olive pressing, roman amphoras for wine transportation and roman bee hives for honey making. Historians claim that the name ’Malta’ also means HONEY!
